XU Bin is an associate professor and a doctor in sociology. Her major research interests involve urban and rural community study, social service organization, and urban and rural community governance. She graduated from Department of Sociology, School of Sociology and Population Studies, Renmin University of China in July, 2005. In the same month, she entered the School of Humanities and Social Science, University of Science and Technology Beijing. She was a visiting scholar at the School of Social Welfare, University of California, Berkeley. Now she is the Associate Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Science, University of Science and Technology Beijing, the Dean of the Center for Master of Social Work (MSW), a Member of the 4th Council of the Population and Environment Sociology Specialized Committee of China Sociological Association (no executive director), the Executive director of the Medical Social Work Specialized Committee of China Association for Social Work Education, the Executive Director of the Elderly Service Branch of the China Association of Social Security, the Executive Director of the Insurance Benefits Branch of China Association of Labor Economics, and the Director of Beijing Zhiyunhongshan Social Work Firm in Chaoyang District. During her employment at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, she has held and participated in over 20 national-level, ministerial-level and provincial-level scientific research projects, such as the National Social Science Fund of China, Project of Ministry of Civil Affairs, Project of Red Cross Society of China, and Beijing Municipal Social Science Foundation. And she has published over 30 academic papers and research reports.
